Scripps Ranch Senior Prom: A Night to
This week marks a significant moment in the lives of high school seniors across Scripps Ranch as they prepare for prom, an unforgettable evening that promises to be full of glamour and excitement. The 2018 theme Garden of Light will illuminate both the indoor and outdoor spaces at San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park, with intricate lighting features and decorations adding a touch of enchantment.
The responsibility of planning this memorable event rests upon the elected Scripps Ranch High School SRHS senior class ASB officers who began their preparations last April. Nina Suomi, Vice President of Senior Class, shares that the focus will ext beyond traditional dancing, incorporating elements like game tables, photo booths, multi-camera photo stations, and other interactive activities.
Ashley Lo, the President of Senior Class, emphasizes how this year’s prom is designed to offer a unique experience. In addition to an exhilarating dance floor with a traditional DJ playing tunes on loudspeakers, we have implemented a silent DJ feature, she explns. Students will enjoy music on personal headsets in our rooftop area while those who prefer quieter conversations can still socialize amidst the museum's serene ambiance.
One of the most anticipated highlights is the opportunity for seniors to be recognized as prom royalty. Lauren Ruiz, SRHS ASB advisor, confirms that nominations have already begun and voting will take place next week within Core classes. The selected couple will be honored on the night itself.
SRHS prom typically attracts over 500 students who must either be senior attees or accompanied by a senior guest. For many seniors, being asked to prom promposal is as memorable as atting itself. Ideas range from heartfelt messages written in sand at the beach to intricate homemade posters and desserts with icing that spell out will you go with me?
With less than two weeks remning until the event, ASB officers are finalizing gifts and decorations, looking forward to seeing their hard work culminate in a spectacular evening.
We're eagerly anticipating the culmination of our efforts, Lo shares. Providing our senior class with this memory that will last a lifetime is incredibly rewarding.
Tickets went on sale May 9th and sales will conclude on Wednesday, May 30th.
